Grizzly Gazette October

Grizzly Gazette October

Dear Grizzly Families,

What does it mean to be a Gate City Grizzly? We show our Grizzly PRIDE. Positivity, Respect, Integrity, Determination and Empathy.  We talk about what this looks like, feels like and sounds like. We emphasize when we see our learners displaying these traits. We are  working hard on KYHFOOTY at school. It stands for, “Keep your hands, feet, and other objects to yourself.” This helps everyone to feel safe and respected.

Thank you everyone for such a fun Walk-A-Thon. Your donations have a positive and direct impact on our classrooms. It means so  much to us. Proactivity: As we move into October please keep in mind the weather conditions and temperature vary throughout each day. Please send your learner to school with layers so they can keep themselves comfortable. Extra clothes in the backpack help on
wet days or if an accident happens.

Safety: In an effort to keep learners safe, between 8:20 AM to 2:45 PM (1:45 PM Mondays) adults not signed in at the office and children not attending Gate City are considered trespassing.

  • If you arrive early for pick up, please remain outside of school grounds until the bell rings.
  • If you are walking/driving by during recesses, please do not stop to talk to children. Staff are left to discern if you are family/friends or if they should initiate a safety response protocol.
  • Remember, no dogs allowed on school grounds during school hours including pick up & and drop off time.

I know following these procedures can feel a bit inconvenient, but when families and visitors follow them it really helps. I appreciate your support and commitment to school safety.
